Macy's
Elport provided retail display design and technology consultancy for the remodel of Macy's Herald Square in New York City, helping shape the store's digital display strategy.
Macy's Herald Square remodel set out to create one of the most exciting, technologically advanced department stores in the world, and getting the in-store display strategy right was part of that ambition. Rather than a straightforward installation, Elport was commissioned to bring its display expertise to the project as design and consultancy partner.
Working across the possibilities offered by both LED and LCD video wall technology, Elport advised on how large-format display could be integrated into the retail environment as part of the wider remodel, helping shape decisions on display design before any physical build took place. This kind of consultancy-led role draws on the same practical, hands-on experience Elport brings to its full installation projects, applied instead to the planning and design stage of a major retail transformation.
For a store of the scale and profile of Macy's Herald Square, having a specialist LED/LCD partner involved at the design stage helps ensure the eventual display technology is chosen and planned around the realities of the space, rather than added as an afterthought.
