Elport built a series of DMX-lit studio and ancillary sets for BBC Sport's London 2012 Olympic Park coverage, keeping the daily breakfast broadcast consistent throughout the Games.
For the London 2012 Olympic Games, BBC Sport needed more than a single studio: a series of studio and ancillary area sets in Stratford's Olympic Park, built to carry its coverage across the entire event. Each set had to support multiple camera positions and be adaptable between shows, and the main presentation set also served as BBC's daily breakfast base for the duration of the Games.
Elport's response was a lighting system built around its own DMX Flex flexible LED strip product and control, designed and manufactured in-house and integrated into the set construction. The fully integrated system gave production teams full control over colour and lighting levels across every element, adjustable at the touch of a button to suit each segment's production needs.
With a home Olympics drawing global attention to Stratford, the lighting system helped BBC's Olympic Park studio sets stay visually consistent and adaptable across weeks of continuous live coverage, from early breakfast broadcasts through the day's changing camera and guest setups.
