Following a successful Johannesburg install, e.tv commissioned a second seamless LED video wall as the centrepiece of its brand-new Cape Town studio.
After installing a state-of-the-art seamless video wall for e.tv's Johannesburg studio, Elport's work made enough of an impression that e.tv came back for a second installation — this time as the centrepiece of the broadcaster's brand-new studio in Cape Town.
The Cape Town wall is a 6m x 2m seamless LED video wall built using 1.2mm micro-pitch LED screen technology, chosen for the fine detail and smooth image quality needed at close broadcast camera range. It's powered by six Nova MTCR600LEd controllers alongside the newly released VF2000 Videow3 all-in-one processor, giving the studio the processing power to run high-resolution content reliably in a live broadcast environment.
As South Africa's largest independent television channel, e.tv needed the new studio to open with the same broadcast-grade quality its Johannesburg operation had already proven — and the video wall was built to be the visual anchor of the space, the first thing viewers and visitors alike see when the studio is on air.
Beyond the technical result, the project reflects an ongoing relationship: a broadcaster returning to the same supplier because an earlier installation delivered on quality and service, and trusting Elport with a second flagship studio as a result.
