BBC Sport
Elport built a flexible DMX-lit studio set for BBC Sport's Premier League coverage, letting producers instantly reshape colour and lighting across multiple camera angles.
BBC Sport needed a studio set that could carry its Premier League coverage over the duration of the season, with a design flexible enough to support various camera positions across a long-running broadcast schedule.
Elport's contribution centred on the set's lighting: a fully integrated DMX Flex system, using Elport's flexible LED strip product and control, designed and manufactured in-house. Rather than fixed, single-purpose lighting, this gave the production team the ability to adapt colours and levels across the set and lighting grid at the touch of a button.
That flexibility mattered for a broadcast environment where the same set had to work for multiple camera angles and different segments of coverage, without requiring a full lighting reset between shots. The DMX Flex system's flexible LED strips could be built directly into the set construction, integrating lighting and structure rather than treating them as separate elements bolted together.
The result was a Premier League studio set built for the practical realities of live sports broadcast: adaptable, camera-ready lighting that gave BBC Sport's production team full control without slowing down the pace of the coverage.
