Strictly Come Dancing
Over 1200 metres of flexible LED strip wraps the Strictly Come Dancing studio, giving the show's ballroom set a glow that shifts and moves with every performance.
Strictly Come Dancing's studio set has to work every week, on camera, in front of a live audience, which means its lighting needs to be dependable as well as visually striking. For this installation, Elport was asked to bring flexible LED lighting into the fabric of the set itself.
The result was over 1200 metres of AV Flex, flexible video LED strip product and control, designed and manufactured by Elport, built into the studio set. Because the LED strip is flexible, it can be shaped around the set's curves and structures rather than being limited to flat panels, giving the studio design team much more freedom over where light appears and how it moves.
With that much flexible LED integrated into a single set, the studio gains a lighting system that can shift colour and intensity across the whole space at once, helping the production keep the set looking fresh and visually dynamic week after week, series after series.
